When the New Year celebrations are over, it will be time to start looking ahead to summer. Helen Coates, who is pioneering the latest IPL hair removal treatment, explains how you can get beach-body ready

The procedure starts with a patch test and initial consultation, during which Helen will explain that that after treatment, you need never use a razor again.
Helen explains: “IPL laser is the most successful method of removing unsightly facial and body hair permanently with the most in-demand areas being ladies’ upper lip, chin and neck, bikini area, under arm and lower leg. For most gentlemen, it’s the back, chest and neck.”
Helen uses the Lynton Excelight IPL hair removal systemwhich can be life changing for both male and female clients. A safe, effective and versatile treatment, it is a permanent answer to reducing body hair.
“You will feel little or no sensation unlike other laser hair removal treatments where it can feel like the flick of an elastic band,” explains Helen. “The number of sessions required vary from client to client and this will be discussed at your consultation. It is recommended to book a course of six, for each area being treated. Depending on the area, it can take from 10 minutes to up to an hour.”
The treatment works on the hair follicles using heat, and while the hairs stay in the follicles they begin to shed within one to three weeks as the epidermis renews. During this time Helen advises not to be alarmed if the hair appears to grow as this is how they look as they are being ‘pushed out’ by the new epidermis.
Anyone is suitable for the treatment subject to a consultation and a patch test. Please note grey or white hair contains no melanin so is not suitable for treatment.
